Always Card
Well finally a card – Due to recent family issues i have not been able to apply my time to much card making. With the loss of my partner to a tradgic accident late last year and the birth of our daughter only five weeks ago i am finally feeling inspired again.
The card that i have made was not my own design but i really liked the layout and decided i would give it ago. I have uploaded it onto my blog as i thought others may also like the design and colour selection. So why not – its really simple, looks great and a special person in your life is sure to love it.
To create this card you will need the Always stamp set. The card stock used is So Saffron, Creamy Caramel, Regal Rose, Whisper White and designer series 12 x 12 Sweet Always. I used a classic stamp pad in Regal Rose. You will also need one in white – a slower drying ink from the craft range. I have used white embossing powder, rhinestone brads in fire, so saffron 5/8″ striped grosgrain ribbon, a slot punch, 1/2″ circle punch, snail adhesive and stampin dimentionals.
The technique used for this card is called embossing – this technique requires a heat tool. Firstly you stamp the image in the white craft ink then sprinkle white embossing powder over the stamped image. Tap off the excess powder and then apply heat to the image. The image will then have a glossy look to it.
Once i had embossed all the images i used the circle punch to cut out the smaller ones and paper snips for the rest. The creamy caramel and regal rose ovals were done by tracing around a oval image and cut out with scissors. Then the ribbon was attached and the knot tied in place. Use the slot punch to help the ribbon sit flat behind the ovals. Stamp the verse in place and then use the dimensionals to attach the images. You will need to pierce the flower image with the rhinestone brad and attatch using the snail. Once all of the above is complete you will have created a beautiful card.
In Color coordinating cards
This is one of the cards that i designed to go with my two In Color scrapbooking layouts for the cr
t show. I have used the All In the Family stamp set. I made grass to give a 3 dimensional look and to add charactor i used a dauber and and wild wasabi ink. I also used a staz on ink so that i could colour the images in without the black ink running. The images were coloured in using blender pens and chalks. Being a birthday card i decided to use the Family Favourites stamp set to add the party hats, balloons and presents. I made a tag using the family phrases set and a vintage brad. All the paper stock was from the in color collection.
